I had a great experience visiting the new Grand Egyptian Museum. I recommend booking online beforehand - it made things much easier and saved me from dealing with any hassles on arrival. The museum was clean and well air-conditioned. It is very large, so comfortable athletic shoes are a must. The artifacts were breathtaking; I would definitely plan on spending 3+ hours inside.

The Grand Egyptian Museum is stunning. The displays show clear care and intelligence, and the layout lets you explore at your own pace-many substantial exhibits are even accessible without glass barriers. The main drawback is the large tour groups, which frequently gather at key pieces and make it difficult to view them comfortably. I hope the museum introduces designated times when groups and guides are restricted so individual visitors can have the time and freedom to appreciate these exhibits without crowds.

Great museum with many wonderful artifacts. The TutAnkh Amon collections and the golden mask are amazing, and the solar boat is definitely worth a visit. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, as you will do a lot of walking inside the museum.

Located near the Giza Pyramids, the Grand Egyptian Museum is the world's largest museum dedicated to a single civilization. We spent four hours inside and still barely scratched the surface. The building is a chamfered triangle aligned with the Pyramids of Giza. The Grand Hall houses an 11.36-meter-tall, 3,200-year-old Colossus of Ramses II. The Grand Staircase is a six-story ascent lined with about 90 large statues and columns, offering a chronological preview of ancient Egyptian history. The Main Galleries consist of 12 halls spanning 5,000 years, organized into four major periods-Old, Middle, New, and Greco-Roman-each arranged around three core themes: Society, Royalty, and Beliefs. The highlight is, of course, the Tutankhamun Exhibit. All approximately 5,400 pieces discovered in King Tutankhamun's tomb are on display, including the iconic Golden Mask, the ceremonial Golden Throne, the four gilded shrines, and the solid gold coffins.

The Grand Egyptian Museum is enormous and very well organized. From arrival, the entrance staff stand out: professional, knowledgeable, and clearly trained. There are plenty of golf carts on site to transport visitors around the grounds, which is a convenient touch. As of August 2025, the ticket price for non-Egyptians is 1200 EGP, payable by card or cash. After buying your ticket you scan it at the barrier to enter, and the visit begins. The interior is impressive, with strong air conditioning that makes touring comfortable even in summer. Multiple escalators connect the different levels, and tour guides are available in many languages. I did not hire a guide and quickly appreciated how vast and detailed the museum is-you can easily lose track of time among the exhibits. The displays cover ancient Pharaonic history, Roman influences, and modern Egyptian heritage. The architecture and interior design complement views of the pyramids, creating a memorable setting. The glasswork and exhibit arrangements are elegant and thoughtfully composed. Security is excellent, with helpful staff and cameras throughout. I recommend this museum to anyone interested in history, culture, or architecture.
