Melbourne Zoo is one of the best places to visit in the city, ideal for families, couples, and nature lovers. The grounds are well maintained, with spacious, natural-style enclosures that allow close views of the animals while respecting their habitats. The zoo features a wide variety of wildlife from around the world, including native Australian species and exotics. Walking paths are clean, easy to navigate, and lined with greenery, making the visit both relaxing and educational. Melbourne Zoo was an excellent experience for our family. The animals were fascinating to see, and the highlight was definitely the meerkat - not shy at all and happy to pose for a little photo shoot. Overall, the visit felt distinct from other zoos we've visited. The layout, animal encounters, and atmosphere made it more engaging and memorable. We enjoyed every moment and would happily visit again.

One of Melbourne's most iconic zoos, just 10 minutes from the city - definitely worth a visit. The layout is clear, and a short walk along the paths brings you to the main animals without getting lost. The grounds are clean with minimal odors, a noticeable improvement in hygiene compared with many other zoos. The koalas were mostly sleeping but undeniably adorable, and the kangaroos were also resting. Highlights included the Tasmanian devils, emus, and the snow leopards.

Melbourne Zoo is a lovely place with lots of content animals. There are often short presentations you can join-today there was a butterfly room presentation that my child really enjoyed. A few cafes are spread around the grounds, but food choices are limited (pies and similar). I recommend buying an annual pass to gain access to all four zoos, which each make for a great day out.
