Wat het bijzonder maakt
The Magic of Authentic Film History
The Studio Tour is not a theme park with replicas; it is a permanent exhibition held in the actual soundstages where the films were made. You are walking on the original stone floor of the Great Hall and stepping into sets that were used by the actors for over a decade. It offers a "time capsule" experience of cinematic history that you cannot find anywhere else in the world.
Unrivaled Craftsmanship and Detail
The tour reveals the staggering level of detail that the camera often missed, from the 950 hand-labeled potion jars in Snape’s classroom to the thousands of unique, hand-designed wand boxes in Ollivanders. It is a masterclass in British artistry, showcasing the work of set designers, prop makers, and costume designers who defined the visual identity of the Wizarding World.
Behind-the-Scenes "Movie Magic" Secrets
The tour demystifies how the impossible was made possible before the era of heavy CGI. You can see the practical effects in action - like the self-knitting needles in the Weasley kitchen or the complex animatronics used for Dobby. Interactive stations also allow you to participate in the process, such as "summoning" a broomstick to your hand or practicing wand combat choreography.
Immersive World-Building
Through massive expansions, visitors can now fully immerse themselves in iconic locations like Gringotts Wizarding Bank, complete with towering marble pillars and the Lestrange Vault, or the Forbidden Forest, which features atmospheric weather effects and animatronic creatures like Aragog and Buckbeak. These sets are designed to make you feel as though you’ve truly crossed the boundary from the "Muggle" world into the magical one.
Hoogtepunten die je niet mag missen
The Great Hall
This is the actual set used for the film series, featuring the original York stone floor and house point hour-glasses. For **Season 2026**, the hall features the **"Magical Mischief"** setup (Jan–Apr), where the tables are cleared for O.W.L. exams and Fred and George’s "Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes" fireworks are suspended from the ceiling.
Hogwarts Castle Model
The "jewel in the crown" of the Art Department, this 1:24 scale model was used for every exterior shot of Hogwarts. It features over 2,500 fiber-optic lights that cycle through a **4-minute day-to-night sequence**, simulating students walking through hallways with lanterns.
Diagon Alley
A complete, immersive street built with "leaning" architecture to create a whimsical, 18th-century feel. You’ll see the three-story **Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes** (featuring a 20-foot moving mannequin) and **Ollivanders**, which houses over 17,000 individually hand-labeled wand boxes.
Gringotts Wizarding Bank
The tour's largest expansion, lined with towering marble pillars and three massive crystal chandeliers. It includes the **Lestrange Vault**, filled with "multiplying" treasure, and a breathtaking gallery where a 16-foot **Ukrainian Ironbelly dragon** "destroys" the bank using state-of-the-art digital projections and floor-shaking effects.
Platform 9¾ & The Hogwarts Express
Home to the original **GWR 4900 Class steam engine** (No. 5972) used in the films. You can board the train to see the interior carriages dressed for different "years" of the story.

Preservation of Artistry
The tour was created to preserve and showcase the British talent and craftsmanship involved in creating the most successful film series in history.
A massive historic prop archive
Because the films were based on a book series that was still being written, the crew saved thousands of props and costumes "just in case." This resulted in a massive archive that wouldn't exist for most film productions.
First European Hollywood Base
Warner Bros. was the first major Hollywood studio to establish a permanent European base in the UK by purchasing this 200-acre site.
