What makes it special

Walk beneath sharks

You aren't just looking into a tank; you are stepping into Europe’s longest underwater tunnel (70 meters). As you walk through the "Oceans" habitat, the perspective is 360 degrees. You’ll come face-to-face with Sand Tiger sharks and Bull sharks, identifiable by their jagged teeth and slow, predatory glide.

The buildings themselves are as breathtaking as the exhibits.

Unlike traditional blocky aquariums, these buildings have no straight lines or heavy internal pillars. The "thin-shell" concrete is only about 6 cm thick in some places, making the structures feel light, airy, and as fluid as the water they house.

Travel from polar regions to tropical reefs in a single afternoon.

The park is intelligently zoned into nine distinct towers, each recreating a specific climate. You can start in the Mediterranean (seeing local seagrass and octopuses) and walk a few minutes into the Arctic, housed in a massive igloo-style dome.

The only place in Europe to see Beluga whales

Beluga whales are native to the sub-arctic waters of the Far North. Because of their incredibly specific social and environmental needs, Oceanogràfic is the only aquarium in all of Europe that has the specialized technology and arctic habitats required to house them.

Europe’s Largest Aquarium

The complex is so vast that it houses entirely distinct ecosystems, ranging from the sub-zero Arctic to the vibrant tropical Red Sea, all within a single 110,000-square-meter footprint.

Disney blockbuster Tomorrowland (2015)

In the film, the entire City of Arts and Sciences (including the Oceanogràfic structures) was used as the filming location for the "futuristic world" inhabited by George Clooney and Britt Robertson. The sleek, white, organic curves of the roofs were chosen specifically because of their futuristic look.

The Submarine Restaurant in Westworld

In Season 3 of the hit sci-fi series, the buildings served as the headquarters for the fictional Delos corporation. The "Water Lily" restaurant (the Submarine Restaurant) is often the specific focal point because its 360-degree glass walls and "floating" roof perfectly capture the "high-end/futuristic" aesthetic.
